This dish was made from a log I set aside while gathering firewood from our woods near Waynetown Indiana. The chatoyance (shimmery appearance) comes from the wrinkles formed as the wood approached a bend or branch. The term live edge applies to the preserved, natural outside edge of the log. It has been soaked in mineral oil and buffed with wax from our bees.
