This vase highlights the intricate natural patterns in this piece of wood from my parents' back yard near Kalamazoo, Michigan. If you zoom on the photos, you might be able to see a nearly perfect star at the very center of the piece. The wood is 4" tall, with the glass insert reaching two inches higher. (Wheat stalks not included.)

How it's made:
I shape my pieces with a bandsaw and then a belt sander before engaging in additional hand sanding. This vase is finished with Bumblechutes All Natural Wood Finish, which contains polymerized tung oil, high-purity citrus solvent, and organic gum rosin. Then it was buffed with Bumblechutes Bee'Nooba Wax.
