Black locust curvy offset cooking spatula - 11”
This utensil was sculpted from scraps sent to me by RobiDecking, a sustainable decking company headquartered in North Carolina. RobiDecking works with non-treated sassafras and black locust lumber that is naturally resistant to rot.
This design fits very comfortably in the hand and hugs the side and bottom of the pan. The thin neck is good for cooks who prefer to handle their cooking utensils with a pencil-style hold.
The utensil has been soaked in food-safe mineral oil and buffed with wax from our bees. The glossy finish will eventually fade with use and be replaced with muted color variations and a fine, velvety patina. You may treat it periodically with mineral oil or another food-safe oil to sharpen colors if you desire.
