This spoon was sculpted from a tree that had to be removed for safety reasons from a friend's yard in Crawfordsville, Indiana.
The curve on this design enables right-handed users to comfortably scrape the sides of pans, but of course it can also be used by left-handed cooks.
The utensil has been soaked in food-safe mineral oil and buffed with wax from our bees. The mildly glossy finish will eventually fade with use and be replaced with muted, velvety patina. You may use mineral oil or other food-safe treatments will sharpen colors if you desire, but no treatment is necessary for the spoon to remain useful.
